In our studio we run the latest version of Avid's Pro Tools using all-AAX plug-ins.For recording audio, we use the highest quality A/D converters within an Apogee Quartet audio interface. his facilitates simultaneous recording of up to four instruments. All software is Mac-hosted.

 

The recording studio has recently undergone a full refurbishment including top-to-bottom acoustic foam treatment applied to the inner walls so as to control reverberation and echo.  Bass traps have also been installed as low frequency absorption panels to reduce low end build up and standing waves.

We use Sontronics cardioid mics for vocals, and a pair of Rode pencil mics for acoustic guitars. We also have access to Shure and Peavey dynamic mics where appropriate .

Usually, artists bring their own instruments but we also have available Taylor, Takamine, Ovation and Maestro acoustic guitars, Parker and Peavey electric guitars, and a Sigma acoustic bass. Multiple percussion instruments are at hand, including djembe, cajon, log-jam, and an array of hand-held bells and shakers. Alternatively you may choose to use either sampled or programmed drums via the Superior Drummer, EZ-Drummer, Boom, or Strike plug-ins.

Guitar virtual instruments include Native Instruments' Guitar Rig, IK Multimedia's Amplitube, and Avid Eleven.

All the fantastic Spectrasonics instruments are here: Omnisphere, Trilian and RMX. These provide a never-ending selection of sounds at your disposal.

Other virtual instruments include: Sample Tank, all the AIR Instruments (Xpand2!, Transfuser, Hybrid, Structure, theRiser, Loom, Vacuum, Velvet), all the latest Output instruments (REV, Signal, Exhale, Analog Strings, Substance and Movement), Epica, all the Kontakt factory libraries, and Big Fish Audio's First Call Horns.
